Parenting

It is not a delay, it is a hiccup. Yesterday was a day in the name of parenting. Everyone who has ever been in the business of parenting and making knows, that even the best-laid plans can be disintegrated in a minute by a sick child, an unexpected development at school, or a sleepless night. So I ticked only one or two items on my to-do list. And doing all I can to reassure myself, I'm still on track. Twenty days to go to my jewellery launch and I have a pile of silver cutouts, loose gems, high hopes and insomnia.

I think the trick is to keep going. Everything takes about 5 times longer with young people at home. But it’s a bit like a marathon or a long track. Some days are just slower than others and that’s fine. It is maintaining the practice and moving forward that matters. Right?

Well, I’m going to leave it here, run for the bench and enjoy precious uninterrupted 3 hours of work today.

Do you have kids? How are you juggling their needs and creative practice?

Empty coffee cup, silver and mess… My life in a nutshell.
